What Happened in the Nepal Floods?
On August 26, 2026, severe flash floods swept through communities along Nepal's Bhote Koshi River, severely affecting Rasuwa, Nuwakot and surrounding districts. Homes, roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure were damaged, leaving thousands of people facing displacement and urgent humanitarian needs.
As of September 9, 2026, people have lost their lives, around 5,100 people remain missing and 13,646 people have been rescued. Search, rescue and relief operations continue as affected communities face the devastating aftermath of the Nepal floods.
