What is Nisab?
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a person owns to be eligible to pay Zakat. It is traditionally measured using the value of gold and silver. The Prophet (ﷺ) set the Nisab threshold at 87.5 grams of gold or 613 grams of silver.
Since gold and silver are no longer used as common currency, you can check current market rates to determine the Nisab value in your local currency.
