Fidyah for One Missed Fast: If you were unable to fast for one day due to sickness or old age, you must feed two meals to a needy person.
This Ramadan
Feed The Needy With Fidyah
Give Fidyah or Kaffarah
Who Must Pay The Fidyah
Fasting is obligatory for all Muslims after reaching puberty, however, certain exemptions exist. While missed fasts should be made up later, individuals unable to do so due to prolonged illness or old age are obligated to pay Fidyah.
“O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may develop God-Consciousness.” 2:183
You Fidyah payments are used to feed a person in need two meals. We recommend a donation of $8 per missed fast.

Your Fidyah can be their hope this Ramadan.
Who Must Pay The Kaffarah
For every fast intentionally broken or missed during Ramadan, you must fast for 60 consecutive days. If you are unable to do so, Kaffarah (expiation) must be paid for every missed fast.
Kaffarah is used to feed 60 needy people two meals.
Unlike Fidyah, Kaffarah is solely for broken fasts and can be paid at any time during the year.
At Muslim Hands we facilitate the payment of your Kaffarah, ensuring it reaches those most in need.
Fulfil your responsibility this Ramadan by using your Kaffarah to save lives.
‘Truly, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him’.
[The Noble Qur'an, 3:159]
